1. Who we are
Keyic (“the App”) is a local-first password manager published for Android. This policy describes how the App handles information on your device. There is no Keyic cloud backend that receives your vault.
2. No network by design
The App is built without the Android INTERNET permission. Keyic itself cannot open sockets or call remote APIs. Opening this privacy page from the App uses your system browser, not Keyic’s process.
3. What is stored on your device
- Vault data — logins, notes, cards, identities, TOTP secrets, attachments, and related fields you enter. Encrypted at rest with Argon2id-derived keys and AES-GCM.
- Master password / biometrics — your master password unlocks the vault locally. Optional biometric unlock wraps the vault key with the device TEE / StrongBox; biometrics never leave the device.
- App settings — theme, language, auto-lock, clipboard clear, backup folder URI, and similar preferences stored locally.
- Camera captures — when you scan QR codes or documents, images are processed on device to fill fields. Keyic does not upload camera frames.
4. What we do not collect
Keyic does not create user accounts, sell data, show ads, or include third-party analytics / crash SDKs that phone home. We do not receive your passwords, vault ciphertext, or usage telemetry through the App.
5. Autofill
If you enable Keyic as the system Autofill service, Android may ask Keyic to suggest credentials for apps and websites. Matching and filling happen on device while your vault is unlocked. Autofill does not give Keyic a network path.
6. Backups you control
Encrypted .keyic backups (and optional CSV / KeePass exports) are written only when you choose a location via Android’s Storage Access Framework — for example a local folder, Drive, or OneDrive folder. Keyic writes ciphertext to that folder; any cloud sync is performed by the storage provider you picked, not by Keyic. Plain CSV exports are unencrypted — treat them carefully.
7. Android & device vendors
Your device OS, OEM, and Google Play may process install metadata, crash reports you opt into at the system level, or Play Store diagnostics independently of Keyic. Those services are governed by their own policies.
8. Children
Keyic is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region). We do not knowingly collect children’s data because we do not operate a collection pipeline.
9. Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the “Last updated” date on this page. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy for App Store / Play disclosure purposes.
